Band 5+: Parents of obese children should be punished for making them fat. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is believed that the punishment should be inflicted on obese children’s the mothers and the fathers because of making them overweight. This essay disagrees with this statement because obesity can be caused by genetics and children often eat unhealthy foods outside of the home

Most of children are at greater risk for obesity because of genetic factors. Several genes may contribute to obesity by increasing hunger and food intake of children. Thus, children can eat without control and generate fat. A recent study found that genes account for just 70% to 80% of the predisposition to be overweight.

Furthermore, another reasons is that obesity can cause due to children often choose to eat junk food under control. Fast food is extremely attractive children because of the taste and convenience, ultimately they would rather eat food containing harmful substances than eat fresh fruit or vegetables. For example, fried potatoes and chicken are high in saturated fat and preservatives, which can lead to obesity when children eat in large amounts.

In conclusion, for the reasons I have mentioned above, I strongly believe that genes play a role in determining the weight of human being and children frequently consume food that is unhealthy away from their parents.
