Many think that parents should spend more time with their kids assisting them with their home work. Parenting can be done in several ways including helping children with their school work, and I strongly agree with this view because it provides time for parents to teach and bond with their babies.
Every parent wants to do their best and be available for their children. However, this is not possible because they are busy with work and other chores to enable them provide for their family. This is why we are advocating that parents should assist their children with their assignments, as this will create an opportunity for teaching. As parents help their kids, they teach the child what was previously taught, thereby reinforcing that knowledge. And for kids who didn’t understand a particular subject, they get to relearn it during this time for assignment. Furthermore, there are kids who are shy in class, and finds it difficult to speak or ask questions, they use this period to ask questions and get clarification on the topics they were struggling with.
Secondly, encouraging parents to help with their children’s home work creates time for bonding. Every child craves for continuous attention and love from their parents just like when they were still infants. Doing school work with parents covers this gap, because apart from school work, parents get to discuss with their children about school, their wants and may even start playing with their kids. On the part of the child, it strengthens relationship and trust which is very important so that a child can easily tell their parents what they are going through. An example is a child being bullied at school, it takes courage and trust for kids to open up on what they are going through, so if there is bond it will be easy.
In conclusion, it is understandable that most parents are busy and barely have time, but I strongly agree that they should help their wards with their school work in order to bond with their kids and increase their children’s wealth of knowledge.
