People hasitant to go outside because of crime. Although government has considered some advanced technology alongside regular laws, many people think that these are not sufficient. However, I support the latter idea, as some crimes happen so quickly that cannot be tracked beforehand, and also internet is so vast to effectively monitor or control crime.
In one hand, advanced technology had introduced by government to control crime rates. These are beneficial in many ways, such as criminal or criminal groups can be tracked by digital surveillance, also data maping allows police to access information. Additionally, online chatter can be monitored so easily by these methods, in turn, reducing crime. For example, Bangladesh was able to reduce crime rates by about 2% last year by implementing digital methods.
On the other hand, more alternative methods should be introduced by authorities to decrease crime rates. This is because some criminals are more skillful than police and they commit crimes so subtly that cannot be tracked beforehand. Moreover, beacuse of the excessive data on internet, it is difficult for police to monitor offenders and arrest them on spot. Therefore, some alternative ways, such as re-education abd re-socialization would be the best way to reduce crime, as these can reshape ex-convits’ lifestyle by offering them job opportunities. For example, the frequency of crime was higher in 2022 in japan, as the criminals were smarter than authorities, but after introducing re-education method, it decreased by 5% in 2023.
In conclusion, despite of considering advance method as digital technology, crimes are still happening frequently. I believe more steps should be taken by government to reduce crime and implement them effectively.
