People work hard and earn money that they would ideally like to keep for themselves. However, most of that money usually has to be given to the state. In my opinion, people should pay taxes according to the rules.
First, citizens should be required to pay taxes to the government for a number of reasons. They should accept that the taxes they pay help the government to offer public services to them throughout the country. These public services are things like building roads, bridges, public hospitals, parks, and other public services. The same tax money helps the country’s economy to be stable. Through taxes, the government can also pay off its debts. In short, the money received through taxes is a way to ensure that people have a comfortable life.
Second, the main benefit that is important is that the government receives it and spends it for the welfare of the people. For example, building the Pluit Reservoir is an 80-hectare artificial lake in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The Pluit Reservoir plays a very vital role for the people of Jakarta because it functions to prevent flooding by storing water especially during the rainy season. Another reason is to build new roads and schools, where people use these facilities and get a good education. In addition, states operate on taxes paid by their citizens, so they can provide facilities to everyone.
In conclusion, after analyzing both sides, it is clear that paying taxes to the government, improves the economy of the country and people enjoy the latest facilities. However, if the authorities do not get taxes, it will be very difficult to run the country and take care of the people.
