Many people believe that the quality of life is much better now, than it was in the past. Though, are they completely right? In my opinion, that statement is not true for everyone in the world.
Of course, we can state that due to technology progress our lives have been severely upgraded. Robots have taken away different tasks, making us in a way more time efficient. But at the same time, with new solutions occur new problems. While we may not be worried whether we are going to have enough time to sweep the floors, we have a machine for that, our worries shift to the child playing with it, because if they were to break it, we would need a lot of money for the repair.
A major example to that would be the invention of artificial intelligence.Today, we are unable to imagine our lives without it, but just some twenty years ago, everything was different. People used to write essays and compose songs on their own, but now it takes thirty seconds for a computer to do it. The ongoing debate about AI’s advantages and problems it creates, showcases that sometimes technologies can have a negative effect on our world.
Another point of view would be humans who live in underdeveloped countries or those who are in a war. How can we generally say that life quality is better now if there are people who cannot afford provision and basic necessities? Their way of living in the past may have been much better than that of nowadays.
In conclusion, i would say that i do agree that technologies enable us with new possibilities and therefore make it easier for us. Although, this fact really depends on the region, because somewhere in the world humans do not know electricity is.
