There is an ongoing debate that how people do shopping is highly likely to depend more on their age group, any other factors holding less importance. Although the way individuals think tends to change as they get older, altering peoples’ shopping habits, other driving forces like environment they are gown up may have greater impacts on how consumers purchase things regardless of their age. Therefore, i would not agree with idea that age is a key factor to forming habits of shopping.
Nowadays, people of different age groups, indeed, choose distinctive types of products to spend money on, making age group what forms customers shopping habits. Take old and young buyers as an example, while old ones pay more attention to quality of product and validness period because of a lot of experience obtained in the previous trials, young ones are likely to be attracted by external beauties or to choose more fashionable products due to interests of youth in fashion and decorativeness.
However, a factor of surroundings, ones live in, plays a far greater role in the creation of ones’ shopping methods. This is because almost any idea is likely to be easy to be placed into one’s mind as long as that idea is repetitive and popular around. It is related to psychology that all learn from what surrounds them. As an example, if in a particular place, buying from traditional shops is thought to be better by many residing in that place compared to purchasing from supermarkets, the rest of the individuals tend to get used to thinking that way over time.
In conclusion, despite the fact that age can change habits of buying in a certain way, ignoring other driving forces such as environmental influences would not be approved.
