Books have always occupied a significant place in people’s life. Nowadays, thanks to technology, books of any type can be read on the phones, e-book readers, tablets or computers. Some people believe that e-books have more benefits than printed ones. I partly agree with this opinion and in this essay I will explain the reasons.
There are many positive aspects of reading e-books. Firstly, it is more comfortable and takes up less space in the backpack. Carrying only the tablet is much better rather than a stack of volumes. Many students have some back problems due to the weight of books. Secondly, electronic books have different functions to make the process more convenient for reader. People can adjust screen brightness, change the colour of the page or the size of the text at will. It is a good option for individuals who has vision problems. Thirdly, I believe that this is a huge advantage that this type of book can be read even in the dark as there can be some situations when you do not have any lightning.
Despite all of these advantages of e-books, there are some cases in which printed ones are ahead. People should not forget about bad influence of the blue light outgoing from the monitor. Paper based books do not have such a drawback. In addition, they make people experience more feelings than electronic ones. It is fascinating to search for the right book in a bookstore or library. Moreover, reading by turning pages feels completely different. It helps to immerse into the story, that is why some individuals prefer this way of reading.
To sum up, e-books have as much benefits as paper based ones. In my view, it is up to a person to decide which one is more convenient for him or her. Personally, I would prefer electronic books as they are more actual these days.
