Regarding some psychological research, ( like Erikson’s stages of psychosocial development ) it can be evident that stages of growth and development are influenced heavily by life experiences.

Engaging with various perspectives and coming across diverse life challenges develop emotional intelligence, flexibility and critical thinking, which are the qualities that never attributes to genetics. One of the great examples would be the studies that have shown that nurturing environments promote an individual’s emotional and social skills, even in one with difficult genetic predispositions.
Admittedly, heredity does establish a foundational framework, leaving traits that can be claimed from parents, namely cognitive potential and behavioral tendencies. However, life-long experiences hold the power of overcoming the inborn limitations. Meaning that someone with a natural link with shyness may grow to give confident speeches through repeatedly public speaking. Personal growth often occurs while overcoming challenging experiences that force individuals to adapt and grow beyond the hereditary limits.
