Nowadays, technology is becoming more popular and changing the way students learn at school. Some people believe that films, computers, and games are more effective than books and that books are no longer needed. I partly disagree with this opinion because, although learning with technology is easier, books are still an essential and valuable part of education.
Firstly, using technology in the classrooms prepares students for the modern world. Today more and more jobs require from their employees to know how to use computers and other digital tools. By learning at school at an early ages, students can develop new skills more easily and understand them more quickly. Moreover, games can make lesson more enjoyable, especially for younger learners. When students are interested in a lesson, they are more likely to pay attention and remember what they have learned.
However, replacing books completely would not be a good idea. Books help students become independent learners because they encourage careful reading and a deeper understanding of a topic. In addition, spending too much time in front of computer screens may lead to eye strain and reduce students’ concentration. Books also provide a quiet learning environment without online distractions such as advertisements or social media. Therefore, schools should continue using books while also taking advantage of modern technology.
In conclusion, although technology makes learning more interesting and helps students develop useful digital skills, books are still important for education because they have been a main source of knowledge for centuries. Therefore, schools should use both books and technology to give students the best learning experience.
