In this digital era, some individuals believe that schools should stop using physical books in teaching, while allow students to acquire knowledge through online contents such as films, computers and video games. From my perspective, I partly agree with this view for some reasons shown in this essay.
The first reason why I oppose the view that schools should not continue teaching traditionally through physical books is that books used in eduaction are definitely evaluated and have undergone numerous steps. As a result, those textbooks offer a huge amount of fundamental knowledge which is not only accurate but also suitable for students. Because of that, although those physical books are sometimes pretty boring, they have laid the solid foundation for many generations to get access to useful sources of knowledge during main lessons and even extra courses. For example, some parts of knowledge offered by entertaining video games and films are sometimes not true to reality with a view to illustrating the magic anfd special abilities, while educational books allow learners to acquire exact knowledge, grammar structures and mathmatical formulas. Therefore, stop using textbooks in teaching which are fundamental and scrupulous is not truly suitable for both students and teachers when considering huge benefits those physical books have brought to many generations.
However, I believe that adopting films, video games and computers in education is also beneficial. A film or video game often offers people a virtual world where they can easily immerse theirselves. Consequently, almost every contents in that world can be effortlessly absorbed by users. If schools can make use of this by sending educational knowledge to online contents, students will get the opportunity to see knowledge which is often described as boring from a different angle. Combining with accurate knowledge form physical books, students not only get bored in studying but also acquiring knowledge effectively. Hence, computers or other online contents are certainlt beneficial and educational as long as they are carefully evaluated and combined with traditional teaching methods with books.
In conclusion, while I acknowlege that sometimes textbooks are boring and computers are more attractive and beneficial, I believe that schools should combine physical books with online contents. This helps enhance the efficiency of teaching and engage students in learning, while offering fundamental sources of knowledge and ensure quality of education.
