Education and healthcare are essential services that people need. The question raised over the years is whether who should be responsible for the expenses of both sectors: Government or the people. In this essay, I will discuss why I support the government to be responsible for the costs instead of the people. I will elaborate on some examples in my discourse.
The reason why the government should support the costs for both the medical and teaching industries is because these are essential services. The government is striving to improve the nation in the literacy and health aspect because signifies the core competency of a country.
As stated, both the learning institutions and medical centers are government-funded and private which gives the people to choose. For example, some cohorts are wealthy and are willing to spend their high disposable income and can select private institutions for their purpose.
I feel education and healthcare are the fundamental things that people should access and hence the government must ensure that people can receive these services or at least pay partially which helps to lessen the rising costs of their citizens.
In conclusion, there are nations such as Brunei and some European nations that are waiving off the costs for both education and medicine in their nations. I believe if there is good planning and budgeting of the national fund, the realization of free education and healthcare will come true one day in Malaysia as the nation an oil and natural resource rich nation. The costs should not be borne by the people as the people`s welfare should be protected such as education.
