It is often argued by some people that it is government’s responsibility to ensure that citizens maintain a healthy lifestyle.Meanwhile others argue that individuals should take ownership of their own eating habits. However,i believe that personal responsibility plays a more curcial role in sustaning a healthy lifestyle.
On the one hand, there are valid reason why the governemnt should be involved in promoting healthy eating.Authorities are tasked with safeguarding public health ,which directly impact on productivity and economic stability.By implementing nutritional policies such as food labeling laws, restrictions on junk food advertising and subsides of healthy produce, governemnts can encourage the healthiest choice among the population. For instance,Japan has introduced balance school lunch program to aimed at improving children’s nutrition, which has contributed to lower obesity rates compared to many westren countries.
While on the other hand, indivual responsibility is arguably more significant.people who support individuals responsibility believe that what we eat is a personal choice.Adult have the freedom to decide their food based on their likes, family habiots and knowledge. Also,it is very easy to find information online about haealthy diets and danger too much salt, suger and junk food. Therefore, many argue that people must take full blame for their own health, because no rule can force someone to well if they donot want to.
In conclusion, although people choose what goes on their plates, personal effort is often not enough against heavy food marketing and high prices. In my opinion a healthy country can only be created when governments make rules and support systems that make healthy food the easiet and most practical choice for all citizens.
