In recent years, there has been a considerable debate over whether individuals should have unlimited access to information on digital platforms. Advocates of unlimited content on social media claim that despite its potential harm and non-accuracy, it may have several benefits, such as faster and easier availability, wide range of resources and enhanced global communication, while opponents believe that it brings some drawbacks, such as misinformation and health issues. This essay will discuss both the advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand, limitless online information gives an opportunity for people to have quick and easy availability, which is helpful for students and workers. Searching for material in books or other printed items may take too much time and effort. For example, nowadays students studying at school frequently use internet as their main tool of findings, for their assignments or upcoming exams, which takes less time without searching too hard. Following that, it is also more convenient because of the wide range of resources. The internet offers a variety of materials on almost any topic. This highlights the importance of online information.
On the other hand, it may cause several consequences, the main one is misinformation. As internet is becoming more and more useful by time with many different content in it, it also means that individuals can be easily mislead by false content. For example, on social media people make up not accurate information to get more views and scam people for money. In addition, this also may bring severe health problems, such as eye strain, sedentary lifestyle and poor posture.
In conclusion, althoung unlimited access to online content has drawbacks, such as health problems and misinformation, I strongly believe that its advantages including availability and wide range of resources exceed its drawbacks.
