Nowadays, most of the young people leaving schools with negative attitudes rather than learning. This issue has become significantly common and may lead to serious consequences in the future for both individuals and society. There are several factors why this happens and how this might be solved.
One of the main factors is that current eduction systems in the majority of countries focus on exams and results. Students are required to memorise large amounts of information, putting them under pressure and continuous stress. As a result, students quickly burn out and lose interest in studying. Another reason why this happens is that many subjects have no connection to real life which makes students feel studying pointless. In addition, teaching methods are inefficient because of traditional techniques which rely on long-hour and non interactive lectures.
However, there are several ways to solve this problem. Firstly, schools should implement more practical and modern teaching techniques, such as group work and problem-solving tasks which are based on critical thinking. Secondly, teachers should create more interactive and supportive environment to increase students engagement in the learning process. Finally, it is essential to show students link between education and their future life careers which can help them study harder.
