In recent years, there is an ongoing debate whether there is a actually a moral necessity for the wealthier countries of the world to contribute in the development of poorer countries, especially in terms of helping them with foods, education and healthcare. In my personal opinion, I totally agree with this approach due to the acknowledgement that having this basic necessity must be considered as human rights and the developed countries can also get the benefits from the social and economic improvement.
One reason of this belief is because having the access to a proper meals, educations and healthcares are the basic human rights that should not be ignored by the society. People from the poorer countries often struggle with having no food on daily basis, no exposure to schools and educational activities, and even basic health cares such as vaccinations and routine check up. As a result, people living in this areas are proned to get sick and die from a totally treatable and preventable diseases, and having an unvaccinated community means there is a higher probability of having new waves of virus infections and pandemics, which could eventually effect the whole world. For example, there is a higher number of diarhea and polio cases reported in African countries due to the lack of clean water in the area.
Another compelling reason why is because helping a poorer countries develop could also benefit the richer regions in the long run. This is because a huge gap in the world’s economy and inbalance society could potentially impact the whole civilization. Uneducated people tend to be involved in serious crimes as they do not receive a proper education from the environment they grew up in. Furthermore, there are many smart and genius individuals that actually came from the poorer countries. By recognizing these people and giving them the privilege to have a proper education, rich countries can also benefit from them becoming someone successful and contributing back to the economy and technological advancement in the future.
In summary, there is a moral necessity for the countries with more money to channel some help to the poorer countries because providing them a basic human rights can benefit both sides in the long run.
