Education is seen as key to progress. There is a debate about who should be mainly responsible for it. Some think parents are the educators while others believe schools and formal institutions should take the lead.
People who think parents are mainly responsible say that learning starts at home. Parents teach children language, values and discipline before they go to school. They can adjust lessons to their childs needs. Pass on cultural traditions or everyday skills that are not in textbooks. This way parental involvement makes sure education is not about academics but also about morals and practical skills.
On the hand those who think schools should be mainly responsible point out that schools provide expert teaching. Teachers are trained to teach subjects, like math and history in a structured way. Schools also help children learn skills like cooperation and problem-solving.. Schools make sure everyone has access to education, which some families may not be able to provide. Subjects like science and technology need teaching that parents can’t offer.
In my opinion education should be a team effort. Parents start by teaching children values and curiosity and schools build on that with structured learning and expert guidance. When both parents and schools contribute children get a rounded education that prepares them not just for academic success but also, for life. This way no part of a childs growth is overlooked. Both parents and schools have their views.
So both have their own perspectives and have valid points towards each other.
