Staffs in certain companies are obliged to wear their uniforms for the duration of their work hours. By wearing a uniform, companies can maintain good reputations and it may also function as means of promoting the company, however, the problems may be that the staff feels uncomfortable in their uniforms and the cost of producing new uniforms for each worker.
On the one hand, if every staff wear the same uniform, it strengthens the impression that all the staff work closely together and share a great teamwork, which can help gain the trust and interest of customers. In addition, by always dressing the same unique uniforms, it can increase the likelihood that the customers remember about the company more easily and that they return to the company to consume their products, recalling that their products had a high quality and reliability from a previous purchase.
On the other hand, depending on the season or the type of uniform, it might make the staff more difficult to concentrate on the jobs. For example, if the staffs working for a restaurant business work outside in a high temperature during the summer time, they may possibly feel ill or get tired more easily due to the heat. Furthermore, companies requiring certain costumes means every time a new staff joins, more uniforms are to be produced and bought by the company, which can then go straight to waste after quitting the job.
In conclusion, there are both advantages and disadvantages that can come with using uniforms in some companies. While uniforms can be seen representable which helps build a positive image in the eyes of customers, and may also promote the company to a wider public to gain more profit, it is to say that the effectiveness and productivity of staff members would decrease if they are not in the most flexible and relaxed state, and the overall profit of the company can be reduced due to the demand of specific costumes to be used in the workplace.
