Some countries let elders work at any age that they want. Even though there are numerous advantages from the work of aged people, I firmly believe that disadvantages outweigh advantages.
One major advantage of allowing elderly people to work as long as they wish is the valuable experience they bring to the workplace. Their years of knowledge can be a mentor to younger employees. For instance, experienced workers in the fields such as education or business often promote valuable notions and practical solutions that young employers may lack. By these helps of elderly people, many fields can take benefits of those experienced people, which helps in many things. Additionally, being employed gives older people social interaction, which can improve mental and physical health. They will be up-to-date with the world because of interaction with people, who mostly will be youngsters at work.
There are numerous disadvantages, and one prime drawback is limited opportunities for youth. When people occupy jobs for extended periods, it can create many demerit effects for youngsters. This is mostly problematic in fields with limited vacancies for individuals, which reduces chances for youth to work and gain experience. For instance, young people may struggle to find a job if people that are occupying jobs will continue to dominate. In addition, it will bring demotivation and frustration among the young generation, leading to a rise in the unemployment rate.
To sum up, although there are a number of merits that help workplaces, I believe that its drawbacks outweigh advantages. If workplaces occupied by elders will not let youngsters work and gain experience, demotivation and frustration among youth will arise, which affects not only the economy but also the employment rate as well.
