In today’s world, technology has become increasingly central to various aspects of our lives, including education. However, I strongly disagree with the notion that technology in the classroom makes teachers outdated. While technology is indeed an essential element in our lives, it cannot replace the valuable role that teachers play.
Firstly, teachers play a significant role in students’ lives. They are flexible in their teaching methods and adapt their strategies according to each student’s learning ability, while technology lacks this adaptability. Teachers foster personal and psychological connections with their students, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable relying on them. For example, if a student does not understand a particular concept, the teacher can modify their teaching approach or provide additional examples to clarify any misunderstandings.
Secondly, teachers create a comfortable and effective learning environment. They serve as sources of motivation and inspiration for many students. Schools, colleges, and universities are not only centers for academic learning but also places where students develop important social skills and relationships. In contrast, technology often functions merely as a tool or resource. If a student struggles with a topic, the technology used in the classroom may provide limited information and may not offer interactivity or feedback to determine whether the student has grasped the concept.
Therefore, technology is restricted to providing certain information and instructions, while teachers are not bound by such limitations. Interactive education is crucial for students, and thus, teachers can never be replaced by technology. In fact, teachers are far superior to technology when it comes to education, making them irreplaceable in the learning process.
