Band 6+: Some employers are giving increased importance to employ people with good social skills in addition to good qualifications. To what extent do you agree or disagree that social skills are as important as good qualifications for success in a job ?

In contemporary society, it has been considered by some that employers have a tendency of hiring employees not only with excellent interpersonal skills but also well-qualified. I completely agree with this statement, in this essay I will explore why I agree with the opinion.

Firstly, having social abilities is beneficial to protect our perspective between colleagues and supervisors because workers always need to deal with their workforce. It is obvious that in a working environment, employees tend to confront numerous difficulties and exchange opinions, expressions with colleagues that are irreplaceable. Take meeting attendance as a prime example, body-language skills are of paramount importance while participants can hold conversation effectively and prevent individuals from exhausted and illness. Another reason could be explained by the fact that being able to communicate and work with customers can obtain promotions in their institutions. To exemplify, employees with excellent conversational skills are advantageous in gaining sympathy from individuals which may become patrons. As a result, having good social skills creates job satisfaction and a good work-life balance.

In addition, another compelling reason why I totally agree with this statement is that employees with an amount of qualifications easily get more chances to succeed in work life than others. The significance of qualifications plays a crucial importance because that is the evidence that employees put more effort in the domain. In specialized majors, for instance the healthcare industry, employers target individuals with years of experience and qualifications to bring satisfaction and professionalism to customers rather than well-possession at communication. Furthermore, less-qualified staff cannot get opportunities to comprehend complex matters. In a firm’s owner perspective, bosses do not secure to assign employees great tasks with responsibility because of poor qualifications. Therefore, it would be better if employees had numerous qualifications especially in curriculum vitae.

To summarize, having great qualifications and high-level of social skills are of paramount importance and it is extremely crucial to obtain promotions in the workforce and therefore become successful in life. Hence, in this essay I cannot agree more with this statement.
