Some companies offer unpaid leaves to their employees as a company policy. But some companies do not offer such times. There can be advantages and disadvantages for both parties from this process and in this essay I am going to give my opinion regarding this matter.

As an employee viewpoint, having unpaid leave beside annual and other rewarded holidays, would be beneficial. if they got any emergencies, they can utilise these leave. Even though the employee aware that company is not going to pay for the day offs, they know that they can have leave during their tenure without leaving the job. So for the employees this would be more beneficial. For example, imagine if the worker has no more annual leaves or sick leaves they can request for no-pay leave without giving resignation.

On the other hand, companies do not like to offer more than a day off beside annual leaves because they think that this system motivate their employees to take more holidays. If employees take more than giving amount of leaves during their working period, that would negatively affect for the company productivity and profit. Hence, more companies in the present do not offer unpaid leaves to their employees.

In my opinion, I believe that if companies offer at least 10 or 15 unpaid leaves for their employees that would be better because if something emergency happen employees can use that. On the other hand companies who are worrying about the financial and product loss if they provide unpaid leave to employees, better if they could come up with more efficient and effective methods which benefit both the employee and employer.
