Some scientists argue that time travel might become a reality down the line, thanks to developing technological advancements. While this idea might have some advantages, such as preventing catastrophic events and advancements in the field of science, I personally see this phenomenon in a negative light.
On the one hand, the idea of time travel seems incredibly attractive. It could help to take measurements to prevent wars or catastrophic events that have occurred in the past, keeping the welfare and peace of individuals around the world. Furthermore, It could develop fields like history, science, and medicine by providing details of future innovations. This, in turn, can lead to scientific breakthroughs and insights into human nature.
Despite its advantages, the idea of time travelling raises numerous serious concerns. In the first place, even a small change in the past could lead to potentially serious consequences in the present or future. Moreover, such technology could fall into the wrong hands- authorities or business institutions may exploit it for political or financial gain, leading to inequality and mistrust. Additionally, individuals may have the opportunities such as correcting their past mistakes or returning to important moments in their lives, leading to social and moral mayhem. More importantly, time travel, could give rise to paradoxes and irreversible damage to the natural flow of events, as currently there are no specialists who know how to curb this powerful tool.
In conclusion, while the concept of time travel is unequivocally intriguing and could have some benefits to prevent disastrous events, scientific advancements, and undo some mistakes, I reckon that it should remain a subject of science fiction rather than reality, as governments could exploit it for their own advantage, negatively effect people’s ethical and social behaviour and might have some unprecedented effects on humanity.
