Nowadays, some people believe that children should learn coding from a young age to get better jobs in the future. However, others think that it can affect their creativity and critical thinking. In this essay, I will discuss both views and explain why I believe that children should learn both technical and creative skills.
On the one hand, learning coding can be useful for children’s future careers. Today, technology is used in many areas, and many companies need people who can work with computers. If children start learning coding early, they can develop useful skills and have more job opportunities in the future. Moreover, coding can help them improve their logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
On the other hand, focusing too much on coding may leave less time for arts and humanities. Subjects such as music, literature and art help children develop their imagination and understand other people’s feelings. These subjects are also important because they teach children to think differently and express their ideas. Without these skills, children may have difficulties solving problems creatively.
In conclusion, I believe that coding is important for children’s future, but arts and humanities should not be ignored. Schools should provide a balance between these subjects to help children develop different skills.
