Considered as a methods of international interaction in modern world of today, tourism has been turned into a substantial interculture phenomenon, which various attitudes has been brought up towards it, whether it aims a culture or affects it destructively. Now I shall discuss these two viewpoints and express my own as the following.
Generally speaking, tourism comes up with novel ideas for both visitors and locals in which all gain some benefits. As is often the case, countries with more attracted tourists are in occasional levels of economy and social affairs, because they have learned about welcoming and serving the people. Therefore, local or national culture has been affected by other nations and attitudes. Furthermore, in multi-cultural countries, say, Japan and France, individuals are more capable of communicate and deal with others compared to isolated societies.
Just on the other hand, some people insist on the drawbacks of cultural alteration for divergent reasons, for instance destruction of pure culture and identitylessness. They believe tourism should be limited by government and the national culture have to be highly preserved as a heritage of their ancestors. Although intercultural trend has become a widespread issue, it leads the national believes and values will to an elimination.
To wrap up in a brief, tourism has come up with merits like global connection between societies, and some demerits such as alienation. I do believe that it is better for governments and society members to be in touch with other nations beside conservating their own identity. Neither a human on his own, nor a society in isolation become able to handle their lives carelessly to others. Therefore, tourism is an inseparable part of our lives.
