In modern world some artists are more successful and have a huge income from sellings of their paintings. In the same time another talented artists have a lot of financial issues and struggle to survive. Should government fund modern art and their creators?
To be honest, our world is quite unfair and people as well as artist should do a lot of things to achieve something. It is not enough to be ambitious and hardworking, also it needs to have a big luck. Some talented artists who are doing everything what they can for the improvement of modern art, just dont have enough money for their ideas and even life support.
Contemporary art is making a big impact for present and future development. Although it is important for society, I dont think that goverment should take part in funding of modern art. Something which has a huge meaning for the world, doesnt mean to be the goal for the country. In my view, government has a lot of different obligations which have bigger influence on their country than paintings in the moment. There are not many rich countries which have opportunity to invest money from budget to support modern artists. If government needs to choose a category for financial aid, it is better to give this money for facilities building or to help sick children. I believe that nowadays painters should find private fonds for their financial support.
To conclude, I reject that fact that governments ought to fund modern artists, because it is not the main area for investments.
