Some people argue that advertisments control what products people buy. While others state that advertisments give an overview on a specific product and help to understand what purpose the product serves.

Advertising is one of the best method to encourage people to buy or to invest their money in. Advertising helps people to understand better what product they could potentialy buy and what is it consists of.

More often the advertisment is used to influence positevly both people and the owners of the product. However, sometimes the advertisment and the positive effects of the product could be false. For instance, there was a company called “Howak” that manufactured baby food. They released an announcement that their baby food had all the vitamins the toddler needed. However, the results were shoking in the end of an expertise, the baby food didn’t have all the vitamins promised in the advertisement. Moreover, the solid foods had forbiden supplement in Europe. The company suffered from numerous complaints after the results were anouncedand it ended up going bankrupt because people didn’t believe the product composition.

Sometimes advertisments are used to dump the competitors market. This type of advertisment is widely used now and considered normal. For example, one of the most popular dumping advertisements was used by Mcdonalds when they first introduced people to drive through. The anouncement stated that if a fastfood restaurants didn’t have a drive through they could not be considered as a fastfood restaurant. This advertisment led to a 15% increase in Mcdonalds stocks back in the day.

In conclusion, advertisements could be used to encourage people to buy a product but they certainly do not control what they purchase.Furthermore, sometimes they help the company to stay on the top of the market.
