Many argue that animal-testing is inhumane and cruel, it should be banned by the government. Although, it is important to understand that several lives have been saved due to scientific discoveries thanks to animal-testing, we have been able to fight several outbreaks such as the plague and covid-19. I believe that doing taking part in animal-testing for our own benefit is not justified with the advances in modern day science there are several alternatives to this such as using biotechnology.
Just like us humans, animals also have feelings, they also have their own families and a life. We as humans are already using them making an efficient use of their meat, fur and poultry products. If we start experimenting on them, it wont be long before these animals go extinct and it may not be long before we start doing these tests on human beings.
There is also a high probability that even by testing on animals human beings may still get affected by the drugs created. However, with the advances in science I strongly believe there are several alternatives by using biotechnology, one is by creating a replica of the human cells to see the impact of experiments on the humans.
In conclusion, the government should invest in science to find an answer to an alternative and push the scientists to get faster results as even though we are benefiting from it, it is an extremely cruel and selfish act. Just the thought of taking away a child from a mother sounds so revolting, imagine how the animals feel when we break their families doing tests on them for our own benefit.
