Observing how fast AI evolves, some argue that it is going to replace human workers soon. I totally agree with this, as AI offers automation to not only increase efficiency in the industry, but also reduce costs significantly.
Firstly, AI boosts efficiency by automating repetitive tasks. This significantly reduces the need for human labor to work on such tasks, and enables businesses to save resources and therefore allocate more for crucial roles and tasks. In addition to this, the probability of making errors in such tasks would be reduced to a large extent. For instance, data entry workers may lose focus due to fatigue after long hours of working. The probability of making mistakes could be even higher if the data are not just simple texts, but include numbers. The interesting fact is, unlike humans, AI’s focus level is constant. This means AI can perform such operations superbly fast, without exhaustion. Such ability is in contrast with human nature and human workers cannot compete with AI in this context.
Secondly, unlike human labor, AI agents do not need additional benefits. A business’s responsibilities towards their employees are beyond just salary payments. To be more specific, an employer is responsible for their employees’ insurances, raises, and sometimes bonuses. While this structure maintains fairness in a healthy workplace, the fact that AI does not need any of those perks cannot be overlooked. This means that businesses’ concerns would be limited to only AI’s maintenance fees, and that is significantly lower compared to the expenses associated with human labor’s perks. That being said, it is not unreasonable to claim that AI offers more and expects less.
In conclusion, by offering many cost-effective solutions, AI can increase the overall efficiency of tasks and mitigate errors. As the result, AI is going to replace human labor in very near future.
