While some people think that capital punishment should be avoided, there are other people who argue that it needs to be used for the utterly serious criminal activities. In my opinion, capital punishment should be implemented by the judiciary system to discourage fatal crimes and to build a less offensive society.
On one hand, capital punishment such as death sentences is not the only solution to any major crime. Arguably, there might be some underlying stories inside every criminals whoever committing crimes. If the judiciary system thinks more humanly, they might discover the connection between the crime and the background of the criminal’s past pathetic life. Even people with unstable mental health condition may also commit an offensive attack. For example, a crime report has shown that a mentally challenged person murdered his family members inside his home in India. If this crime is taken under capital punishment, it will be unfair for the person who does not have the logical brain like any normal people.
In contrast to the idea that individuals should be given a second chance for rectifying their mistakes, it can be seen as an unfair advantage for criminals not getting serious punishment even after doing destructive activities. Many criminals even serial killers would take the unethical advantages if there is no rules such as death sentences in their country. Moreover, the society is supposed to face more vulnerabilities due to an increased number of dangerous crimes like murders, attacks, bombering, and so on. For the sake of saving people’s lives, government should be aware of the destructive crimes and their right judgements.
However, capital punishment is not the only way to make a society more risk-free. Rather a well-functioning judiciary mechanism, right institutional power, and strong societal and family bond can bring peace into a society. Nevertheless, my perspective concludes that capital punishment can be an effective tool to restrict people from many dangerous crimes.
