Many individuals consider that children should be nurtured only by their parents. However, others believe that the role of extended family members is also crucial. In my view, I agree with the involvement of extended family.
On one hand, parents who raise their child alone can ensure a highly consistent upbringing and also have a strong relationship with their children . To illustrate, these parents can teach their child specific core
values or diet without facing conflicting advice. This gives them the freedom to raise their child the way they want and more time for them to bond together. However, raising a child alone can carry the risk of burnout. Without reliable support to share the daily burden of raising a child, parents can easily become overwhelmed by stress which may impact the emotional well being of the household. While raising a child independently has its advantages the heavy burden also creates a disadvantage.
On the other hand, raising children with help from extended family offers emotional and practical benefits. For instance, grandparents can provide childcare when the parents are not around. This reduces the financial burden since they don’t have to pay for daycare Furthermore, extended family members can pass down traditions, knowledge and diverse life experience that the child might not absorb from their parents alone. Therefore, sharing the responsibility improves a child’s development and does not put too much stress on the parent.
In short, independent parenting can ensure a consistent environment and avoid conflicts but it exposes parents to significant stress and exhaustion. While support from extended family can reduce stress from the parents and give the kid a more diverse background.
