There is a view that it is more beneficial for schools to concentrate on teaching real life skills rather than academic subjects. In my opinion, however, this is not correct because of two main arguments.
One upside of students having more attention to their studies is that it may help them to decide their career prospects. Since schools form brief understandings of various fields in students ,ranging from treating sick people to controlling a whole country, this can contribute to students deciding their workplace in the future. As a result, an increased number of individuals can choose a job that they are effective in, which may potentially lead to them being more productive and happier in their offices, hence improving the average quality of workers.
In addition, children can acquire practical skills throughout their lives without going to school. Practical skills are usually acquired by daily mistakes and life experiences, meaning they are taken for granted. However, this is not the case for academics, since learning process of academics should be carried out using specific sources, including books and articles, which are always provided by schools. Therefore, it would be more logical for the government to prioritize science and other subjects, as resources for studying them are limited and are not accessible for everyone.
In conclusion, I feel that children gaining real life attributes in schools is not as efficient as them learning different subjects, because they lose the chance to try themselves in different spaces and would also spend time, effort and money finding suitable materials for independent learning.
