Since primary education plays a critical role in one’s life, some argue that it is more beneficial for a toddler to start learning basic literacy as soon as possible while others hold the view that the compulsory education should only begin at the standard age which is seven or eight. I, respectfully, believe that both perspectives have valid points and should be considered in order to get the best results.
Many psychologists have admitted the fact that childhood is the most crucial period of everyone’s life which their ability to learn is significantly at its peak because of their curiosity. Due to this, supporters of this idea believe that such opportunity should be taken in order to enhance the potential of children’s cognitive skills. Especially, when kids are perceived as inquisitive by their parents and curious to know about the world and details of the environment that they are living in at the age of three and four, they should be supported by qualified and educated teachers to flourish their talents.
On the other hand, it is crystal-clear that children need to be fostered in a loving and intimate household where there is no comparison and competition because they are dependent on their family. If they are forced to study at a very young age more than their potential to seek for academic validation in a competitive atmosphere by traditional teaching methods, it could be very draining and exhausting so they might refuse to attend the classes. Also, according to this viewpoint, spending less family time can threaten their social and emotional health.
On balance, both views offer compelling reasons. In my opinion, the most important key is to maintain discipline in terms of gaining academic knowledge and focusing on living a life as a kid. For instance, a play-based learning curriculum would serve the child’s interest and fulfill their need of education at the same time.
In summary, both viewpoints on remote work have valid justifications. In spite of the fact that learning in a grading system can be challenging for a toddler, her or his capability should not be undermined. Adults are able to help them nurture their talents by improving teaching methods and standardized testing that is proper for their age.
