In the contemporary social fabric, several individuals are of the claim that time should be allocated by youngsters to concentrate on every subject comprehensively. However, some others have different perspectives that students just solely need to focus on their area of interest. Both views will be dissected objectively and the writer’s opinion will also be presented in this essay.
In terms of the former view, more companies and jobs in this day and age require diplomas from various domains, hence, teenagers that excel at all subjects will obtain tremendous knowledge, which leads to comprehensiveness in different sectors. Students that have expertise in maths are likely to obtain rudimentary knowledge to master physics, chemistry, finance, which help learners erudite and become more confident in such academic circumstances. In addition, due to studying with a massive amount of information, students, hence, are required to obtain extra skills, specifically time management. Students themselves, therefore, not only need to allocate time appropriately to comprehend every department thoroughly, but they also need to balance with other aspects of life, such as recreation, health,… which may be useful in the future.
In terms of the latter perspective, there are several subjects that may not be applied in the future, thus, the counterparts that totally focus on areas of interest may reduce their burden and improve their mental health significantly. Learning from their desire is likely to give students more motivation which lead to an increase of well-being, stress reduction, and as a result, boost their learning productivity. Moreover, if students master their major department, they will obtain a higher opportunity to put that knowledge into practice through a future career. For instance, those people who expect to become a doctor, are required to have a thorough understanding in biology, specifically in physiology and anatomy.
Although these two points of view obtain certain benefits, however, from my perspective, the balance of these both views are the most optimal option. As a cardiologist, I myself not only excel at physiology, but also master in chemistry and physics which will support the work in an effective way.
