Education is important for everybody as a human being. There is a opinion that says education should only focussed on how student will get job after graduate from school, whereas others argue that education has a important role in students’ personality as well as social skills. In my opinion, education is not only about academic achievement. However schools is the crucial place where children have to learn how to become a adult.
These days, in order to getting a well-paid jobs, people are competing with each other. This condition that probably makes the students’ parents feel worried about their children. To achieving this, schools could to try applying a more specified curriculum that focused on getting occupation. For examples, they could teach their students on how to write a proper curriculum vitae, or how to encounter a job interview. In addition, they could teach a method for selecting a suitable job with their passion. As a result of that, student will get a well-hired job easily.
However, some people argue that education have another important roles instead of only focussing on getting a job. Students have to learn on how they will entering community in the future, which in this case social skills is have the role. In order to achieving this, the schools curriculum have to be adjusted. For instances, they could teach student on how to improve their public speaking and communication skills. It will be relevant when we look at nowadays condition that people are tend to be individualistic, therefore the social skill have to be taught on schools.
In conclusion, in my opinion, despite getting occupation is the goal of education, I believe that through the process in achieving that, schools have became the place where students learn about social skills. If schools only focussed only on the goal, students will not get the benefits.
