Some individuals are of the claim that integration of the world has resulted in a positive conservation of cultural heritage. While others think that it has caused the gradual disappearance of historical values and identities. I will examnine some of the reasons for these opinions and ultimately give my own perspective.
In today’s integration world, information and knowledge can be exchanged through many ways, such as internet or tourism, so that led to the increasing awareness and concern of the magnitude of cultural heritage, which has made significant contributions to preserve these heritage by emphasizing the importance of preserving historical location by using globalisation as a method. For instance, Hoi An village in Vietnam, has attracted a large number of visitors both for local and foreign ones, and it has been accepted as a historical landmark by UNESCO. This is not only becoming well-known by the introduce of local people but also the recommendations and recognitions by many prestigious institutions around the world, which greatly aid to be famous as the importance to tourism and economy, led to the preservation by people.
However, exchanging and importing too many different cultures has also make their own one eroded and gradually disappeared. This is because of the excessive desires to have a deep understanding of another cultures, and make it more popular and commonly adopted by citizens. There are so many people have known and recognised the superiority of others over their own one, like Halloween and Christmas in Eastern countries, which make the calendar have more various occasions. Consequently, they are loosing their traditional values and identities, such as Independence Day in Vietnam, which many vietnamese people do not concern.
In conclusion, i believe the globalization has played an important role in preserving traditions, but young generation need to aware their traditional values and identities, do not try to integrate too many other cultures in the world.
