It is considered by some that government ought to support retired people financially, while others believe that people should deal with it themselves. In my opinion, I believe that a balance between personal preparation and government assistance is the best approach.
On the one hand, many elderly individuals lack the ability to work due to declining health and physical limitations. Without financial aid, they are unable to meet their basic needs. Additionally, elderly people have already contributed to the country’s economy by years of work and tax payments, so it is fair to receive support in return. For example, the government of Kazakhstan provides retirees with regular pensions to ensure that the elderly citizens live a good quality life.
On the other hand, relying on the government only may place a significant financial burden on the country’s economy. If too many people depend on the government’s support, there may occur problems with the distribution of money inside the country. Moreover, personal savings give retirees more independence and financial privacy.
To conclude, while government support is essential for the well-being of elderly citizens, individuals should also take responsibility for their future. A balanced approach, where people save for their futureselves while government provides essential financial aid is the best solution.
