The Earth is humans’ common home so it’s significant for us to preserve it. However, whether our acts are making the Earth better or damaging it seriously? From my perspective, we are gradually attacking our common home rather than helping it, as there are numerous compelling reasons to support this assertion.
Firstly, takes the form of making the Earth better, individuals have been doing so many activities that seem very good for humans and nature, but turn out to cause a lot of harm. We cut trees to make roads, build buildings, play areas, or make paper. It’s very few people who can comprehend the consequences of those activities. Trees play a vital role in regulating climate and providing breathing air for humans. Because of this reason, there will be landslides, air pollution, and many other disasters if people continue to destroy those green forests. Especially, the landslide incident in Da Lat is a compelling example of this. In order to build business facilities, they cut down trees. The great consequence of that was that the land on that side was lost because there was no tree cover when it rained. This example showed us as clearly as a bell how seriously the Earth is being suffered.
Another aspect is that to protect the environment, more and more people adapt to join in ecotourism. Ecotourism is understood as a form of directing individuals to tourism that is responsible for nature, and beneficial to both the environment and local people. However, while properly managed ecotourism can be a good thing, there still exist many projects that are “untested, unaccredited and only present as operating on the basis of environmentally friendly policy”. For instance, dolphin and whale watching tours have brought a large source of income to many travel companies. However, a lot of research showed that the socialization and resting behaviors of dolphins are significantly disrupted by contact with tourist boats. Creatures on earth are gradually being harmed by human profit purposes.
In conclusion, from my point of view, the Earth is being extremely harmed by human activities. If we continue to act without thinking of the Earth, we will lose it one day soon. Let’s act for the Earth-for our common home.
