In today’s industrialized world, ecological challenges have become a major concern, sparking considerable debate about the assistance of ordinary people. In my perspective, individuals are crucial in mitigating the consequences of these issues due to numerous reasons, which will be elaborated in the subsequent paragraphs.
On the one hand, it is argued that ordinary individuals have a minimal impact on reducing the carbon emissions produced by factories. Since only governments have the authority to regulate and impose restrictions on large corporations, individuals are essentially powerless in influencing corporate behaviour. Furthermore, ordinary residents lack necessary financial resources that can be utilized to alleviate prevalent environmental challenges, particularly climate change. However, I disagree with this notion as even though casual individuals do not possess essential materials to facilitate ecological issues, they can still help the environment by shifting their mentality and employing more eco-friendly alternatives.
On the other hand, proponents of the view that individuals can ameliorate the current environmental condition contend that people can make small yet effective changes. Reduction in daily energy consumption, recycling and avoiding single-use items can benefit the environment by lowering the waste level and conserving vital energy sources. Additionally, choosing public transportation over private vehicles can significantly reduce harmful emissions from cars. Collectively, awareness campaigns highlighting the worsening situation of our surroundings can incentivize people to adopt more eco-friendly activities. I concur with this argument as the inclusion of these strategies is simple yet impactful for our environment.
In conclusion, although the scarcity of fiscal resources and authority are restrictions for casual dwellers, they can influence substantially by shifting their attitude.
