Some people believe that there should be no obligation to pay taxes to the government. In my opinion, I strongly disagree with this view, and I will explain why in the following paragraphs.
Governments rely on taxes to function and provide essential public services. Taxes are used to build and maintain infrastructure such as hospitals, roads, and public schools. Without tax revenue, a country would struggle to meet its basic needs, including education, healthcare, and security. In such a scenario, most services would fall into the hands of private companies, making them less accessible and more expensive for the general population. Moreover, if private companies are not required to pay taxes, how can the judicial system manage the high number of legal cases or protect workers from potential exploitation during their employment or in retirement?
On the other hand, I can understand this perspective in one situation: when governments impose excessive taxes without clear justification. In such cases, the state may appear to prioritize its own interests over the welfare of its citizens. High taxes, if not used responsibly, can lead to public distrust and financial strain on ordinary people.
In conclusion, although tax rates can sometimes be high, I believe paying taxes is essential for maintaining social order and ensuring that everyone has access to basic services. Avoiding tax obligations could lead to far worse consequences for society as a whole.
