The issue of whether intergovernmental relations are the main mechanism that can deal with many world problems, and governments should cooperate in these fields, or, on the contrary, countries should first solve their internal problems has garnered significant debate. While some advocate for impacts of international dialogue in the different spheres, as sharing of experience can help other countries, others assert that ignoring own issues can lead to catastrophic consequences. Although, it is important to interact with other countries, I contend that states should solve their own problems first.
To begin with , it is important to acknowledge that relations between countries play a fundamental role in international security; to be precise, problems of one country can directly affect other States. For instance, if a government faces with environmental problems, these issues can influence its neighbours; consequently, they should also act against these ecological concerns. In addition, the international economy depends on many countries, as world trade requires involvement of all nations. Moreover, some resources are not provided in every country; therefore governments improve their commercial relations, as they can bus materials that they do not produce. But it is essential to understand that if states have their own obstacles, it can prevent them from participating in international dialogue.
As mentioned in the former paragraph, internal issues can lead to stopping participation in international relations. Specifically, if a government has own problems, it can create an obstacles: for example, if crime rate is high, it can destabilise internal policies. In this case, there will be difficulties with realisation of international cooperations. Firstly, such problem as inflation can lead to economic misbalance, and if governments do not solve it, they could not interact with the international economy. Secondly, if there are no environmental laws at the internal level, countries should adopt them, and only after this, they may support themselves in international arena
In conclusion, although it is important to be an active member of the international community, countries should deal with their own issues first.
