There has been an ongoing debate concerning where should children be raised. Some argue that raising them in the suburbs is better while others believe urban areas are the superior choice. This essay aims to discuss both views thoroughly before stating my opinion.
On the other hand, proponents of city life have their own justification. To start, city life delivers unrivalled convenience. One short walk around the city centre and you may find almost anything, from shopping malls to restaurants,… Hence, children there may have access to a wide range of entertainment and cultural experiences, nurishing a more energetic lifestyle. Moreover, cities usually offer high-quality healthcare, advanced educational institutions, and modern infrastructure, which can enhance living standard and grant children more educational and employment oppoturnities when they grow up.
On the one hand, supporters of the rural life do not back up their argument without proper vindication. Firstly, this lifestyle offers more exposure to nature and the ecosystem near it. For instance, numerous rural areas in Vietnam often boast idyllic sceneries comprised of beautiful rivers, forests and rice fields, which are home to various animal species. As a result, children raised close to these environment will not only be able to expand their knowledge of the natural world but also engage in regular exercising, enhancing respiratory health and overall physical well-being. Furthermore, studies have shown that immersing in natural attractions allows people to find tranquility and fosters creativity. In this way, students can relieve from daily pressure healthily without potential repercussions like video games do.
In conclusion, urban life possesses unmatched quality of life and cultural diversity while rural life brings about overall well-being and enhanced creative capacity. Considering these aforementioned reasons, I lean toward the latter view.
