Many individuals debate whether adolescents growing up in an urban area have more benefits compared to rural areas. Although raising children in the countryside can be safer, I believe living in the city is more preferable as it provides better opportunities.
It is argued that parents raising children in isolated towns prevents them from being exposed to dangerous and violent crimes. Towns and villages tend to have a significantly lower crime rate compared to populated areas across the nation and are known to be a much safer environment to grow up in. This allows parents to have one less thing to worry about when looking after their offspring. For example, Perranporth, which is a popular village in Cornwall, has almost no crimes reported from 2025 compared to a nearby city, namely Truro, which reported a staggering number of knife crimes just last year. However, I believe growing up in a town or village can lead to a young individual not having a promising future, as there are not many jobs in rural areas.
On the other hand, it is thought that having youth brought up in cities can expose them to a range of resources and facilities. It is known that urban parts of the country have access to the best schools, in which parents can select the best educational institutes tailored to their kids. Furthermore, there are more jobs available from big corporations in the city compared to rural parts of the country; this can secure their children with promising futures. For instance, data reported in India showed that schools in cities had a much better overall academic rank compared to schools in villages. I believe this school of thought is preferable because it can provide children with a bright future and allow them to become successful.
In conclusion, although being in the countryside can provide a sense of security and safety to kids and their parents, I believe that being brought up in the city can provide many fantastic opportunities for children to have a successful career and a fulfilling life
