In today’s modern society, education system has shifted to be more complex where academic and non-academic matters become compulsory subjects for pupils in school. Some people believe that non-academic subjects must be omitted from the schools curriculum in order to make children more focus on the academic subjects. However, I would argue that non-academic subjects are still critical for the sake of pupils knowledge and creativity advancement.
Firstly, learning non academic materials could provide other skills for pupils in facing their future lifes. Non-academic materials such as physical education could be usefull for them when they have to face some dangerous problems and other critical situations. When they witness a disastrous accident, the first aid knowledge taught in schools such as CPR could save their relatives’ lives and from this evidence, such educations is also essential. Learning academic subjects without any non-academic ones is giving no points for the pupils social lives.
In addition, non-academic materials would sharp students creativity and novelty due to the application of idea and communication skills in the process of this subjects’ learning. For instance, cake decorating will require pupils to pour their imagination to the surface of the cake and thus will lead to the more creative minds and this, to some extent, would release their repressed-emotions. Therefore, even though academic learning is essential for creating students’ future path, non-academic should not be sacrificed to create better academic values.
To sum up, the non-academic subjects are also necessary for children as well as the non-academic ones, impacting students to be more creative and relax in school and thus should not be omitted from the curriculum for any reasons.
