Nowadays, whether older people or younger generations should be leaders has become a widely discussed issue. From my point of view, the ability to be a good leader does not depend on a person’s age. This essay will discuss both views before explaining my own opinion.
On the one hand, the ability to be a good leader depends on the situation and the fields of work. In the modern world, in order to manage with new technological equipment and create groundbreaking ideas some jobs require younger people. For example, younger generations had grown up with these modern tecnhologies, and therefore young employees are more willing to learn about and work with these new technologies than that older people who tend to rely more on their experience.
On the other hand, although we live in an era of rapid technological advancement, sometimes some jobs require people who have more experience and well-developed skills. These positions may be more suitable for older people, because they can become a great leaders in these fields of work. A simple example of this is that a company director often assign an important task to dedicated and long-serving employee because they often trust them, and value their experience. With regard to younger employees they often undertake internships under dedicated older employees to gain knowledge. That is why, I believe that being a good leader does not depend on person’s age.
In conclusion, although older people work by relying more on their experience, some fields of work may be more suitable for younger people because of their knowledge about technologies.
