Band 4+: Some people believe that parents are the best teachers. Do you agree or disagree?

There have been difference of opinions regarding education of children. Some people believe parents are best teachers, while others disagree with this opinion. Despite the arguments in favor of this I have dubious views toward the idea.From one standpoint, everyone’s life is greatly influenced by their parents as they are the greatest educators to them. They will induce them with important skills that they would need to face the “real world,” such as speaking, walking, and social interaction. On top of that parents will be always by their children’s side either in their ups or downs and even help them during shortcoming. What is more is that, parents are absorbing key communication skills for their children. For instance, the newspaper ‘Times of India’ ran an article in which the editor explained that more than eighty per cent of children get their life lessons and learn from their parents rather than educators. Hence, parents can be considered as perfect teachers for real world to their children.Looking at the matter from another angle it is clear that parents are not qualified enough to teach their children to science based subjects. Education is a fundamental aspect in the development of a country. If the youth of a society is well-educated, a future is born. Teachers provide the education that improves quality of life, therefore bringing so much to both individuals and society as a whole. Teachers are still highly trusted and teacher’s strong autonomy includes the idea of a jointly constructed understanding about the goals and purposes of education. Owing to this, teachers can provide their students with well-rounded knowledge about the subject.In conclusion, with all mentioned ideas above, I believe that there is no shadow of doubt that parents are the best teachers for real life, while highly specialized teacher can supply their students with required knowledge in further career or educational life as it affects to country’s economical life.
