Education is an important factor in developing society and individuals. Even though some people claim that education in private institutions is of higher quality compared to public institutions, there is also an idea that all educational institutions should have equal funding. This paper will present arguments for and against each view mentioned above, followed by a personal opinion.
There are several reasons why private educational institutions can be considered more advantageous. First, private institutions usually have better conditions because of more investment in infrastructure, which leads to smaller classes and a higher level of facilities. Because private institutions charge fees to the parents of their students, they can afford to have more expensive facilities, qualified teachers, and extracurricular programs. For instance, it is possible for a private school to have laboratories with more up-to-date equipment or even opportunities for studying abroad.
At the same time, people who are against the unequal distribution of funding state that everyone should have the same opportunity for learning. Education is a necessity, and there should be no difference between the level of the educational process in private or public institutions. Unequal funding causes inequality, as students from richer families can get a better education than students from poorer families. The problem of inequality can be solved through the equal distribution of funding among all educational institutions.
To conclude, even though there are several advantages to private institutions, such as better quality, equal funding of public institutions can be more beneficial to society in general. People should be provided with equal possibilities for studying regardless of their financial situation. There is a need to ensure that public institutions have appropriate conditions for their functioning and improvement.
In this way, public educational institutions are more advantageous because they guarantee equality and better opportunities for all students.
