In our rapidly changing society, some people think that reading is a waste of time, picking TV, while other’s opinion is that books are inestimable source of knowledge and TV isn’t able to affect positively on us. But I reckon that now television and related concepts are becoming useless and irrelevant for our time
Television has enormous impact throughout the history and also that appeared to be the main source of info 30-40 years ago. And now it still is important technology that can not only be used for entertainment, but for exploring news, discovering something new, obtaining knowledges. For example, there a lot of interesting and beneficial programs, like Discovery channel or Welcome to the space. These TV agencies are not only doing it to earn money but to enlighten people that dont have enough time for studying. As fact its way easier to perceive info from fascinating visual effects and dynamically changing picture on your screen than from books, Moreover, the vast majority of children are not interested in reading, “boring” books, and instead of cartoons or even trash content you can let your child watch something sophisticated. But book aficionados are asking: “are books actually boring?”. And majority of people will most likely say: “Yeah”, and, that is the truth, that while shows and other widely spread content immediately grabs your attention, involves you to story, like you are part of it. And in this case TV doing a great job in engagement, that of course, has a positive effect on comprehension.
Its obvious, that obtaining thoughts from picture and voice is easier, than concentrate your mind, focus it on reading and understanding. Furthermore, lots of people are struggling to read 10 pages, not talking about chapters or books. But reading, as I think is way more beneficial for you if you actually want to learn something. Let me tell you a short story: Once, I tried to read Sun Tzus art of war, and I had compared TV program and book: what is the easiest, fastest, most relevant way to explore this work. And watching animated story was easy-going, I thought that I understood every detail. But then, I read it. And during reading I felt that I was expanding my internal world, Concepts begun appearing in my mind, simultaneously I realised that I actually learning it. And after that, my opinion is that cable channels might have valuable source of knowledges and even may teach you something, but in this question, books are just better. Moreover, reading possesses covered advantages should not be uncounted. For instance, it significantly improves your speaking, writing skills. It also expands your vocabulary, makes you a better speaker. As a short review I would say that if you actually want to dive into something and truly explore it-read a book. You will not only understand and acquire concepts from it better but also improve other meaningful skills.
When all things said, I want to summarize that according to my opinion, reading books is more beneficial than watching television, but “Speaking picture box ” can also be powerful tool in right hands. Both concepts of exploring our world are quite good and definitely better than time killers. But I guess, that particularly for me books are more relevant, and after all I think that you might have same opinion.
