Many people think that rich countries should give financial aid to the countries with lower economic levels. I agree with it, and think that it should be their duty. It would cause a significant increase of overall wealth, level of life, and average happiness.
Firstly, even providing basic necessities would help drastically, and reduce the level of sadness. For example, during the Cold war, the USA and USSR were supplying parts of the parts of Germany they controlled, and America invested significantly more money than Soviet Union. Hence, American-controlled side of Germany was more advanced and had happier population. Furthermore, America’s investments in Japan. In the long run, they provided a significant technological boost. Things like nintendo and animation were achieved only because of this help.
Moreover, this help could be a great investment for rich countries. A great example of this is the U.S. During World War 2, they donated more than 1.5 billion dollars to the weak European countries. Also, some scientists were sent to help reinforce the environment. Nowadays, countries like Germany and France still repay financial aid provided to them, and others, like Japan, send their best scholars and technologies abroad.
To conclude, I support that rich countries should be responsible for helping poorer ones. This aid would work as a strong investment, and would raise overall well-being of the citizens.
