There are students who excel in academics and there are some who depict improvement in their grades. In the context of it, people are having two sides of debate. I want to personally raise my voice for the students who show growth in their grades.
Some people believe that students should get reward for their academic performance. The plus side will be that others will also try to attain the excellent performance in order to get the reward. For example, the government of Tamil Nadu has implemented various schemes that is beneficial for students like they are giving prizes like cycles, laptops, and many other things. But this is only for the best students.
On the downside, there are many students who are feeling depressed because of it. Moreover, they also want to have rewards for their hardwork. Even though their overall academic performance is low, the surge in their grades are astonishing. If we can implement a new scheme for them, this can give rise to their confidence and morale. There was a survey conducted by The Times Of India, they concluded that 70% percent of students are feeling depressed or dropped out. This is because parents are comparing the performance of their children with others. So, in order to avoid that we can give rewards to them.
In conclusion, rather than dropping out and getting depressed, it is important for students to increase their performance. The best solution is to give acknowledgment for the students who show significant improvement in their grades. As we discussed earlier, there are many schemes for the excellent students but none for the improving ones. Education is for everyone and it has the power to change everything
