In present time, awarding the students for their efforts in the studies is as important as educating them, and has become a topic of considerable debate. Some argues that, only those students should be awarded by school who portrays excellent academic performance. while, other believes considering those students for an award who displayed noticeable improvement in the marks.
On the one hand, are those student who showed outstanding academic performance and deserves to be rewarded by an award. Not only it will serve as a positive reinforcement for them, but would be an encouragement to do more better in their career, and allow them to maintain this competitive spirit in future.
On the other hand are the students who displayed significant increase in the grades, awarding this students will motivate them to achieve more better grades in future, and will eventually result in the betterment of students performance. An award works as a token of respect or encouragement for an academically weak child, who earned it by his or her hard work and determination.
Therefore, in my opinion award should be given to each and every student who performed exceptionally well or showed significant increase in their grades. This will encourage students to maintain their performance further who secured excellent result overall, and will motivate those children to get better grades in the future, who has been working hard.
